Laminated and Primed
Laminated and Primed structural grade F7 timber is produced by finger jointing and laminating radiata pine which is generally straighter, stronger and easier to use than solid radiata. This produces a range of exterior structural and decorative engineered timber products coated with a genuine primer, including posts beams and claddings. This timber can be identified by its distinctive light cream, red or blue colours, depending on the manufacturer.
The pre primed finish removes the need for pre painting preparation - a light sand and your ready to paint. The primed surface allows for the direct application of solventbased or acrylic finishing coats.
The organic preservative offers above ground H3 protection, meaning the product becomes a highly durable timber able to withstand hazardous conditions including attack from wood boring insects and decay fungi. The preservative is described as an organic system, utilising the active ingredients permethrin, propiconazole and tebuconazole, representing the most recent developments in Light Organic Solvent Preservative (LOSP) technology.
This technology is ideal for the treatment of structural timber and architectural features (such as external joinery and profiles) where accurate gauging or profiling is required or where structural requirements necessitate a durable, 'dry-after-treatment' timber product. Typical examples include exterior structures such as pergolas and balconies as well as laminated posts and beams, feature profiles, reveals and facia. These all fall into exterior above ground situations or hazard level H3. This specification for preservative treatment resists both fungal decay and termite attack.
NOTE: Alternative sizes and lengths can be ordered and half lengths can be supplied in a timely manner. While we have a comprehensive range of structural timber we may not always stock your ideal length or size.
